Harvard Men and the Middle Finger
So this afternoon Sara and I decided to go into Boston. We took the Senate Bus in to town and got off at Harvard Square and decided to try and find Quincy Market. Uh, let's just say that didn't work, and two or so hours later we were on a bus on our way back to Harvard Square, hungry and tired. (There was construction at one of the T stations so we had to take a bus where there was no underground.) Anyway, there we were, crammed into this bus, and we were standing right in the front and there was this man and an asian woman near us. They started talking about how they aren't from Boston, and the guy was from Austria and the woman was from, like, Singapore or something, and so I asked the man what part of Austria he was from and he said "Vienna". I was like, "I was there this summer!" and then we had a conversation about Austria and traveling and stuff and the Asian woman joined in and she was really nice. So we were chatting and I found out he was here for school. "What school" says I. "Harvard" says he. He's here working on his Ph. D. at Harvard. Hahaha. The first Harvard student I meet isn't even an undergrad. It was really cute, though. Later I saw him asking the asian woman for her number.....awwwwww....
Then later Sara and I were standing, waiting to cross the street and this car of boys drove past us and honked and said something that I didn't actually hear, but I'm sure was obsene. At first I was like, "Wha.....?" but then it hit me: flip them off.
So I did, and it was really empowering. Wheeeee! I flipped someone off for real today for the first time and I met Harvard man number one, even though I shall never see him again and he was too old for me and he kinda looked like Arnold Schwarenegger. Wow. I like Boston!
