I'm Sore!
Ah, it's back to the good old days with me complaining about how sore I am. Yesterday's fencing practice wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, but as today progressed I got more and more aware of the muscles in my legs and how much they were hating me.
Ok, so yesterday we ran 1/4 of a mile, which I know is not bad, and then we did push ups (yes my arms are sore) and sit ups (my abs weren't supposed to be sore but they are) and, most dreaded, leg-lifts. And some other stuff. But the moral of the story is that I'm on a real live sports team now and I'm doing athletic things. What's gotten in to me?
After practice we went to dinner in Pom, which is the vegetarian and kosher dining hall for those of you who don't know, and I found out that the fencing team is the one all the other teams make fun of. This doesn't make sense to me. I mean, we're the team with the weapons....
I also found out that, as this is competition fencing (no more pretty classical stuff...I hope I don't pick up bad habits!) fleching is allowed. And the coach is Hungarian. Yeah.
Then I had fun happy Glee Club rehearsal (YAY) where I seriously questioned the director's decision to make me a soprano. I definatly stop sounding angelic after high E, and high F barely comes out. I know I used to be able to make it to high A, but I really really really haven't sung up there in a while and I've lost it. Hm. Well, as she is a very cool person and an absolutly fantasic director she must have had her reasons.
Oh man, we did the coolest thing. We got a seating arrangement in Glee Club. She did it by section. Everyone in the section stood up and sung some warm ups and she just listened and switched people around, and then listened to small groups sing, and then the whole group, and switched more people around. She seated us by the people who brought out our voices best! Isn't that mad cool times 9?! I mean, usually choirs get seated with tall people in the back and short people in the front. So this is just as cool as it gets, in my opinion.
Hm, today I had class. I went to the ville twice - still no phone calls about jobs. Do you think it's their way of saying we don't want you? Or should I wait longer before I start to panic. Anyway, the first time I went to the ville it was to go to the back which was closed. Stupid building closed at 3! Why would it close at an absurd time like that? Most people are still in work! Sheesh! Then the second time was to get a card for Chrissy and more envelopes, because I ran out. That means I've sent 50 letters. I am so cool.
Then I checked my mail and found out that Jimmy Eat World is coming to Boston! I'm sooooooo excited. I mean, whenever I check their website they're always touring in Germany and the Netherlands. And they're playing the same venue Flogging Molly is going to be at, so I'll already know where it is! And Sara said she wanted to go too! Oh man, tickets go on sale tomorrow and I'm sooooo excited.
Many happy returns of the day to Mrs. Cooper and I hope you have a safe trip home Kelly!!!
