Eh...

My uncle died today. He'd been battling brain cancer for the past several years and it was really a miracle he lived this long. And even though he's really actually been kind of a vegetable for the past two years or so, he was a really cool person and I'm sad that he'll no longer be around to tell me cool things like Polartec is made out of recycled plastic.
So yeah.
Before I knew that, though I went out to lunch with my aunt and grandparents who are up visiting and had a really nice time with them. Then I went to lab and got out early.

May his memory be eternal.

My First Visitor!

Today I got my first visitor! It was....Sarah Hyers is who very cool and I went to France with her.
So, I was woken up this morning by the stupid stupid uterus that decided it hated me and wanted to give me cramps. Darn thing. So I took an Ibuprofen and read about pirates until the pain went away. Then I got dressed, ate breakfast (and was sorely disappointed because there was no whipped cream left for my waffle) and hidely-hoed my way over to Boston on the Senate bus. There I took the T and found Quincy Market all by me onesies. I walked through Haymarket because I didn't know where I was going, and it was very fishy. But there were also fresh fruits and veggies, so that was cool. I found Cheers, where I was meeting Sarah, and waited for her there. When she arrived we walked around Quincy Market for a while, looked at stuff, I ate lunch, and then we took the T to Boston Common and were threatened by the squirrels. The squirrels here are the biggest, fattest squirrels I've ever seen and they aren't afraid of humans. They see you walking towards them and just stare at you. Sometimes they even advance like "yes, come closer, I want to eat you with my little squirrel teeth." I highly recomend any people with small children keep them close by when you visit Boston. The squirres will descend and carry them away if you aren't keeping a sharp look out.
Then Sarah and I found a cool little mall thing tucked away down a side street with a varied food selection, so we ate there. It was fun.
After that we took the T back to Quincy Market and watched a crazy street performer. Then I had to go (it was nearly 7). I took the T back to Harvard Square and got on the Senate bus, but there was some funky arrangement so there were two buses, but one was just an overflow bus. I guess there's a frat party tonight at MIT so there were tons of people going there. Anyway, the overflow bus was only going between Harvard Square and MIT, so we got dropped off at MIT and had to wait for the normal bus to come and take us back to Wellesley.
When I got in there was a package from me- homemade chocolate chip cookies from Pete and my dad. I think they're trying to fatten me up, and I'm not fighting with them. Thanks Pete and Pop! They are yummy times seven million!

I'm Sore!

Ah, it's back to the good old days with me complaining about how sore I am. Yesterday's fencing practice wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, but as today progressed I got more and more aware of the muscles in my legs and how much they were hating me.
Ok, so yesterday we ran 1/4 of a mile, which I know is not bad, and then we did push ups (yes my arms are sore) and sit ups (my abs weren't supposed to be sore but they are) and, most dreaded, leg-lifts. And some other stuff. But the moral of the story is that I'm on a real live sports team now and I'm doing athletic things. What's gotten in to me?
After practice we went to dinner in Pom, which is the vegetarian and kosher dining hall for those of you who don't know, and I found out that the fencing team is the one all the other teams make fun of. This doesn't make sense to me. I mean, we're the team with the weapons....
I also found out that, as this is competition fencing (no more pretty classical stuff...I hope I don't pick up bad habits!) fleching is allowed. And the coach is Hungarian. Yeah.
Then I had fun happy Glee Club rehearsal (YAY) where I seriously questioned the director's decision to make me a soprano. I definatly stop sounding angelic after high E, and high F barely comes out. I know I used to be able to make it to high A, but I really really really haven't sung up there in a while and I've lost it. Hm. Well, as she is a very cool person and an absolutly fantasic director she must have had her reasons.
Oh man, we did the coolest thing. We got a seating arrangement in Glee Club. She did it by section. Everyone in the section stood up and sung some warm ups and she just listened and switched people around, and then listened to small groups sing, and then the whole group, and switched more people around. She seated us by the people who brought out our voices best! Isn't that mad cool times 9?! I mean, usually choirs get seated with tall people in the back and short people in the front. So this is just as cool as it gets, in my opinion.
Hm, today I had class. I went to the ville twice - still no phone calls about jobs. Do you think it's their way of saying we don't want you? Or should I wait longer before I start to panic. Anyway, the first time I went to the ville it was to go to the back which was closed. Stupid building closed at 3! Why would it close at an absurd time like that? Most people are still in work! Sheesh! Then the second time was to get a card for Chrissy and more envelopes, because I ran out. That means I've sent 50 letters. I am so cool.
Then I checked my mail and found out that Jimmy Eat World is coming to Boston! I'm sooooooo excited. I mean, whenever I check their website they're always touring in Germany and the Netherlands. And they're playing the same venue Flogging Molly is going to be at, so I'll already know where it is! And Sara said she wanted to go too! Oh man, tickets go on sale tomorrow and I'm sooooo excited.
Many happy returns of the day to Mrs. Cooper and I hope you have a safe trip home Kelly!!!

Oh man, I'm tight with the economics man

That's right ladies and gents, today was a day that was far outside the ordinary. I finished my Islam reading, understood it and was interested in it. I had Bells. AND I became best friends with Karl Case, the man who wrote our economics text book last year. Well, maybe not best friends, if you want to be really picky about it.
Anyway, here's the story:
After Islam I went over to Pendleton and wandered around looking for stairs. There were no stairs. So I found the elevator and took it to the fourth floor. There, I located room 409 and stood in the door way while Prof. Case finished telling a student about rent.
So I stepped into the room and said "You don't have me in any of your classes." And he said, "You look familiar." This was an odd thing to say because I've never seen him before in my life- because the picture on the inside of the Economics book doesn't count. "You had my mother. She graduated in '80" I said. So we talked about that for a bit and he asked for the phone number of my house and said he was going to call my mom that evening. Heehee.
Then I said, "I have an odd request for you..." and I explained about the Cornell thing. So he read the letter (and shook my hand for being a Democrat) and thought it was funny and he wanted to write something funny, but he had to think about it. So we took a walk down the hall to....look up my mother in the economics department files! Apparently they have a card for every student who's ever taken an econ class at Wellesley. So we found my mom and discovered she got an A in stats. My mom's cool like that.
Anywho, we went back to his office and he decided to call my mom right then and there. It was mad funny. She was really surprised, to say the least, and Prof. Case said that she should come and visit when she came up for Parents' Weekend.
Then he signed Cornell's card.
Anyway, the moral of the story is that I am tight (yo) with Prof. Case. Kinda like Kelly and Greg Kaufman.

Oh man, today was just a mad sweet day. I had Glee Club at 5 and it was AMAZING! In fact, amazing doesn't even cover it. I feel like I'm back with Mrs. Alks. Only, I have one sad announcement....I'm sorry Altos....I've gone over to the dark side.....yes. I'm singing soprano. I'm really really sorry. It was the director. But I will always be an alto at heart!

Fencing!

This was a hot day. First I got letters from Briana and Chelsea (and home, but that's not exciting). Then I went to FENCING! Well, actually I only kinda went to fencing. I went to the meeting but I didn't stay to practice because I'm a bum and because I had reading times five million to do (I'm taking a well deserved break. I don't think I can handle any more big words telling me how Islam has been wronged by everyone everywhere forever.)
Anyway, fencing was mad hot, except I'm worried about being able to join the team because they practice every day at 4:30 and I've got conflicts on Tuesday and Wednesday, and I didn't stay today...so I hope all that works out.
And as I'm being besiged by people on line I shall go.

And the job search continues

Ok. So I got up this morning at a semi-reasonable hour and wrote to Kelly cause she's mad sweet like that, talked to my aunt breifly and then my parents called so I chatted with them for a bit.
After that it was to the library to watch a movie for class, then back here and then to the Ville (or is it Vil?) to look for a job. Here's hoping I get hired somewhere!
Anway, Sara and I got back a little late and the dining has was closed! We just missed it! It was soooo dumb. So we ended up walking over to Schneider and I got Pizza Hut pizza because it was unhealthy. But I ate an orange, so it kinda evened out. Kinda.
Then we returned unto our dorm room and now we're feeding our internet addictions. It's all good.
And yeah. That's what I did today. Maybe tomorrow will be more exciting.

Blaaaaaaah!

That's kinda what it's been like all day: Blaaaaaaaaah. But then I got letters from Ria and Kelly so I'm happy happy happy. Yaaaaaaaay!
Hm, what did I do today? I went to Bio where I wanted to KILL KILL KILL neckless Mr. Man. But I didn't, which is why I'm still here, I guess. Then I came home, resisted the urge to nap, read about Islam until my eyes bled, or until I was really not into reading it anymore, went to lunch, went to Islam and then learned lots of fun and interesting stuff about Islam. It was kind of an Islamic day.
After that I went to the library (which I think I have figured out by now, knock on wood) and tried to borrow The Guys, but they just got it in, so it wasn't in the system. this saddened and confused me, so I left, and returned unto my dorm room and chatted with Kelly and Marie and then returned to the library to see if anything had miraculouly changed. Nothing had. But I asked the girl- woman, I should say- at the reserve desk and she explained and then I got the book and it was happy and schlappy.
It was sad, kinda like the play I went to last night, but not thaaaaat sad. The Guys is about Sept. 11, but at least no one dies in the actual play. And it's actually kind of an upbeat play- helping to heal and remember, so, it actually kind of left me with a good feeling.
Hm, the moral of the story is I need a job. And I should also do my reading in a timely fashion.
And people should send me letters.
The End.

SWEEEEET!

Oh man, I made Glee Club. I think this makes my life.
My name got left off the list by accident...and another Elizabeth's name got listed twice...oh man, this makes my life!
Yay! :-D

Aunts and beetles

Today I had lunch in the vil with my Aunt Alice, who was in the area and dropped by to say hello. It was really nice, and I had a garlic bagel with cream cheese and was just happy as a clam. Then I got a birthday card for my grandfather and then we walked back to campus and I was almost late for lab. Heehee.
Oh man, today in lab we set up experiments with beetles. They are tiny! And they like to move around a lot, which is kind of a pain because I shall have to count them in 5 weeks after they've incubated at 29 degrees C at 50% humidity, which I guess are optimum breeding conditions, so instead of 20 in each container there will be lots more. But it's all good.
Today I got Kim's letter- yaaaaaaaay!
And I ate Chinese food and I did math homework and now I need to read about Islam, also known as write to my family, Kim and Kelly. Then I'll go to bed. Tomorrow I'll read about Islam.

Now I get it...

Finally, I understand why I keep getting urges to strangle my bio teacher and think bad, mean thoughts about him even though he's really done nothing wrong. He has NO NECK! I'm sorry Mr. Bio Man, but there is no way I can enjoy your class. Ever.

Flogging Molly

Yay! I just bought tickets to a Flogging Molly Concert! It's October 1st, and any one in the area that day is invited to come (but you have to get your own tickets.)

Tower Court Mixer

I have to say that the Tower Court Mixer was very different than what I expected it to be. First off, it wasn't at Tower Court. It was actually in the gym, which is huge and so it makes sense to have it in the gym and not in Tower Court.
Secondly, we decided to walk over with Sara's FYM, which was a good idea, because she knew it was in the gym and we didn't. However, when we arived at Sara's FYM's door she and her two friends were finishing off the last of who knows how many shots of who knows what, so the walk over was...interesing. Yeah, apparently the only way to have fun at the Tower Court Mixer is if you're in various stages of drunkedness. I didn't know this, Sara didn't know this, but the majority of the people there knew this. It was good times.
So, once we got to the gym there was a huge long line of people waiting to get in. Sara's FYM, who was, to be fair, only slightly buzzed, was like, "you shouldn't have to wait in this line. I'm gonna take you up closer." So we skipped everybody and moved up really far, but it didn't matter because we stood outside for about an hour and a half anyway, and were absolutly smoshed between tons of people. There were two lines: a Wellesley line and an MIT line. One would think it would be pretty easy to distinguish between the two, but it was actually quite difficult because stupid MIT boys kept standing in the Wellelsley line. So it was confusing, and at one point I looked around and noticed that Sara and I were surrounded by men and only men and I was like "Hm, I don't think we're in the Wellesley line anymore." And we weren't. So we squeezed through the mess of people and got into the Wellesley line and got in in about 5 minutes.
Two obseravtions:
1. People who stand there and make out right in front of you are obnoxious and should be hit.
2. Dances are much more fun when your friends are there. I got in and I was missing everyone. Oh man, it would have been sooooooo much fun if everyone was there. I missed Meghan so much, because she would have danced and been crazy with me and not cared about anyone else. And instead Sara and I kinda stood there and danced a little and it was an ok time. I mean, Sara was awesome and I'm sooooo glad I went with her, but it was just the two of us for most of the time and that's not really all that fun.
I saw my FYM there and she swing danced (but not with me) and it was mad sweet. Then, at like, the second last song, this random man asked me if I wanted to dance. You know Magda's husband in Le Divorce? Well, the guy looked like him, only blonde, and he really didn't look or sound like a college student. So I was like, "Um...no, thank you," and he was like, "Ok. Bye." But it was a little weird.
The dance ended at 2, and we went right back to our dorm.
This morning was Flower Sunday, and I met my Big Sister and she gave me flowers (duh) and then we went to the non-denominational service and it was really nice. By non-denominational service, I mean there were a ton of religions represented. Baha'i, Buddhist, Hindu, Islam, Christian (Protestant and Catholic, shot down me) and Judiasm were all represented. It was a pretty cool service. Very new age.
Then I came back and alternatly read about Islam and napped. And now I must do math homework and Bio reading, also known as calling Kelly. Haha.

Woot.

Ok, so Lysistrata is a random random play, and I will tell you all about it because I think it's relevent to today. Here's the basic plot: Lysistrata is a really intelligent woman who lives in Athens. She's really frustrated because Athens has just gotten its butt kicked by the Sicilians and they're fighting with everybody and basically so many men have died that there's nobody left to draft, but the wars are continuing. So she decides to do something about it. She calls all the women of all the different Greek city-states together and they all decide to refuse to sleep with their husbands until the city-states sign a peace treaty. In Athens the women take over the Acropolis- which is where the treasury is- and hide away in there and refuse to let any men in for several days. Eventually the men can't take being celibate anymore and the city-states sign a peace treaty and then everyone has sex. But not on stage. There were a lot of naked people, though. Not really for any reason, either. They were just kinda like "Everyone take your clothes off." Fifteen minutes go by. "Now everyone put your clothes back on." It was random random random times 7. But very funny.
And here's how I think the play is relevant to today. What if all the spouses or signifigant others of Congress and the Cabinate and the Presidant and the other heads of state that are backing the war in Iraq, rufuse to sleep with them until all the troops pull out of Iraq? Can't you just imagine Dick Cheney trying to get his wife into bed? ("Sleep with me or I'll have you put in prison for being unAmerican. This goes against the PATRIOT Act!")
Teeheehee.
Anway, I finished Lysistrata last night and then read Medea this afternoon while I did my laundry. Note to self- make sure you have enough quarters before you get down there. Yikes, I didn't know I had that much laundry! My favorite part was when the sign said "One washer load equals one dryer load," but I managed to fit three loads of wash into one dryer. So they're high. Or trying to make more money. But probably high. But the moral of the story was maybe this 4 plays a week thing wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be.
Well, there's a mixer tonight at Tower Court, which is one of the dorms, and I beleive I shall go.

The Library

I had a hard time beleiving today was Friday, somehow. It just seemed too soon for the week to be over. Not that I wanted to keep on having class. I need the weekend so I can read until I pass out. Hahaha.
Anyway, this morning I had Bio- reaaaally easy. I thank Mrs. Leuchner evertime I go to class for teaching me so well. Yay for Plantwoman! Then I came home and read about Islam and took a lovely nap. Then to luch, then to Islam and then to the library for....getting lost and confused! Yay!
Oh man, the library is soooo big. And I had to get two plays out for Theater, but I wasn't sure if they were on reserve or if I could take them out. The syllabus wasn't very clear. I guess some plays are on reserve, but some aren't, so, yeah. Anyway. I found out that I can take the two plays out- they're Medea by Eurpides and Lysistrata by Aristophanes which turned out to be really bawdy, in case anyone was wondering- but the lady at the desk confused me and told me that the Euripides was in the special book collection, so I went up there and looked for it, but I couldn't find it, so I asked for help and they looked it up on the computer and were like, "Yeah, we have one in here, but there are other ones you can actually take out," so then I went and found it and the other play and was happy and felt accomplished. After that I sat in the academic quad for about fifteen minutes (reading the Aristophanes) because I had a Basic Music Theory Placement test at four and it wasn't worth it to go back to my dorm since the music center is righ between the library and Caz.
I have to say, the music placement test was not fun. In fact it was the opposite of fun, mostly because a whole bunch of the questions were like "Look at these chords. Which is a diminished seventh? Which is a 6-4 chord?" What the heck is a 6-4 chord? Then there was a dictation section that was not cool. A nice old lady played piano and we had to write down what she played. All we got was the starting note. Bah to that. The moral of the story was, it took an hour and I hope I place out of Music 111, because I can't take music lessons unless I either take Music 111 or place out of it, and as there is no room in my schedule for another course and I don't need the music credit (woot theater) I had better place out or no lessons for me.
After the test I returned unto my dorm and Sara and I got...Chinese food! I was massively yummy, but they gave me enough veggie fried rice to feed an army, or me for the next week. There were also yummy yummy dumplings which I enjoyed until Sara pointed out that there were shrimp in them. They were good....but, when I think shrimp I think back to the time at my godfather's 40 memorial, to the meal afterward and how it was Lent and they gave us nice vegitarian dishes with huge dead shrimp-like things on them with all their legs and eyes and other nasty appendeges that shouldn't be left on dead animals and, well, I'm not a fan of shimp, is all.
Then I called Kelly because she called me while I was out munching on Chinese food, and now here I am.
My fortune was: You are going to change your present line of work.
To which I say, duh. My business establishment is centered in Buffalo and, while I'm sure the services of my employees- you'll remember they're mostly male- would be in high demand here, I'm too poor to transport everybody out to Wellesley, soooooo it looks like I'm going to have to either open up a branch right here or move on to something else. Sometimes life's just like that, ya know? If anyone has any suggestions as to what I should devote my entreprenurial energies to next, please leave me a message.
Also, ping-guo means apple in Chinese.

First Day of classes

First off, I have an announcement to make: It's Tuesday. Secondly, I would like to say: I HAVE MAIL!!!!!!!! KELLY YOU ROCK! This was probably the highlight of my day.
Ok, so I woke up, went to Bio, came back, hiked to mail services and got my passport, returned to my dorm, started my reading, found that the first chapter of the book is reeeeeaaaaaalllllly easy and basic review stuff, stopped reading, went to Green Hall and got my working papers, bought post-it notes and batteries, checked out Molly's Pub- it was closed- hung around the acedemic green for 45 minutes because it was right by Founders Hall, checked the choir listings 4 times because I had nothing better to do (and they weren't up all four times), and went early to my class that I thought I was locked out of, but really I was trying to go in the wrong door.
Wow. I have the say that Islam in the Modern World sounds like a really interesting class. A difficult class- yikes, two big papers!- and one that requires a lot of reading- 10 books, count them, 10 books. More than all the rest of my classes put together and costing nearly as much- but a REALLY interesting class. So I'm looking forward to that.
After class I went and bought all 10 books, stood in line for ages and then checked the choir list again. It was up this time. And I'm shot down. Eh, C'est la vie. Maybe next year.
Then I went back to my dorm, had a cookie, found and read my HOT HOT MAIL, and now here I am, skipping Convocation like the rebel I am and avoiding homework already. Actually, there were bagpipes playing earlier and I almost went to Convocation because I really wanted to do stepsinging, but they do stepsinging at other times during the year, so I decided to be lazy and not go.
Oh, the comedian last night was really funny and I hope he comes back next year. Chances are good, seeing as this was his 11th time at Wellesley. Haha.
Alright, now I really have to do homework and write back to Kelly, who wrote me a letter like I asked, PHIL GETMAN!

The Calm before the Storm

I guess that's kinda what today feels like. It's all quiet, only a few workshops and only one was mandatory...and classes start tomorrow. Egads!
Yesterday I woke up late, then sat around and wrote letters. Surprisingly, writing letters is really tiring, and I was really hungry for dinner, even though I hadn't left my room except to eat brunch and mail the letters when I was done. After dinner we hung around a bit, then went to Collins Cinema to check out the movie. There had been a rumer going around that they were showing "Zoolander", but it was a viscious lie. "Say Anything" was playing when we walked in- 80s romantic comedy with John Cusack who's name I can't spell and who has dreamy eyes. After that they showed "Trainspotting." It had Ewan McGregor in it, playing a heroin addict. There was more plot than that, but it's kinda hard to explain I guess. Not the type of movie you can summerize in one sentance. It was really good, though, if slightly disturbing, and very European (read: naked scenes and, um, yeah.....Kim cover your face).
Today I went to a meeting with the dorm APT (acedemic peer tutor) and got a form so I can register for my fourth class. And now, um, got nothing to do except fight with Phil and worry about tomorrow. So, yeah.
Send me mail!

Harvard Men and the Middle Finger

So this afternoon Sara and I decided to go into Boston. We took the Senate Bus in to town and got off at Harvard Square and decided to try and find Quincy Market. Uh, let's just say that didn't work, and two or so hours later we were on a bus on our way back to Harvard Square, hungry and tired. (There was construction at one of the T stations so we had to take a bus where there was no underground.) Anyway, there we were, crammed into this bus, and we were standing right in the front and there was this man and an asian woman near us. They started talking about how they aren't from Boston, and the guy was from Austria and the woman was from, like, Singapore or something, and so I asked the man what part of Austria he was from and he said "Vienna". I was like, "I was there this summer!" and then we had a conversation about Austria and traveling and stuff and the Asian woman joined in and she was really nice. So we were chatting and I found out he was here for school. "What school" says I. "Harvard" says he. He's here working on his Ph. D. at Harvard. Hahaha. The first Harvard student I meet isn't even an undergrad. It was really cute, though. Later I saw him asking the asian woman for her number.....awwwwww....
Then later Sara and I were standing, waiting to cross the street and this car of boys drove past us and honked and said something that I didn't actually hear, but I'm sure was obsene. At first I was like, "Wha.....?" but then it hit me: flip them off.
So I did, and it was really empowering. Wheeeee! I flipped someone off for real today for the first time and I met Harvard man number one, even though I shall never see him again and he was too old for me and he kinda looked like Arnold Schwarenegger. Wow. I like Boston!

Nothing like jumping on the band wagon

Ok, today I woke up, ate breakfast, wrote letters sitting on the bench outside of Founders- that was picturesque- skipped lunch, went to a choir audition (please please please please can I make it in???) came back to my dorm and ate chocolate and really funky starbursts because the dining halls were closed. The rest of my day!

Ok, so the class picture went well. When we got to Severence Green, where it was being taken, there was this shouting competition going on between the dorms...and our dorm was kinda ghetto because our FYMs and RAs deserted us. The other dorms around us had FYMs and RAs to lead them in thier chants, but we had to lead ourselves, therefore our "When I say no, you say Peanuts...No..PEANUTS..No...PEANUTS" cheer was a little half hearted and our "We've got sass, We've got class, We've got jazz, We are Caz" was even worse. Oh, well.
It was funny, though. Some girls from another dorm wanted to be in the picture twice, so there was a little running fiasco. The camera that took the picture was a moving camera, so they sat all the way to one side and as soon as the camera moved off them they got up and ran to the other side of the picture. The camera guy was really nice about it, too. He slowed the camera down so they could all make it. Then, at the end of the picture, some upperclass men pelted us with water balloons from every side and I got soaked. Yikes.
Later me and Jaya, my new friend (yay!) took the Senate bus to Harvard Square and we wandered around a little bit. I was looking for posters for my room, but we only found one store that sold posters, and the only ones I kinda liked there were huge pictures of Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom from Pirates of the Carribean. As much as I like both of them, I couldn't quite bring myself to be that ditzy, so I think Sara and I are gonna try to go into town tomorrow and shop for dorm stuff.
I got White Peach Bubble tea from a very cool little tea bar. It was the first time I've had Bubble Tea and it was yummy yummy yummy! The people working there were sooooo nice, too. I'm definatly going there again. Then I came home, wrote a letter to my parents, wrote a check to my parents and attempted to activate my new credit card five million times (or two). I think I'm gonna try again soon. Yeah, don't ask.
PS- I bought tickets to Syracuse for October 8th. Surprise!!!!! Hahaha! Call me Kelly, and we'll make plans...heehee...hehehe..sorry, I just had to laugh, I feel very smug because, um, I do and I surprised Kelly, kind of, I hope and think and, eh whatever...
Today was a good day.
And PPS- if I write people letters, I better get a letter back, ok?

Happy happy happy

Yay! I got into all of my classes and I'm rejoicing! Well, to be completely truthful, I only got into 3 because we only sign up for three now. Then there's a 10 day long add/drop period and at the end we all sign up for our forth class. But since my fourth class- Islam in the Modern world- has an unlimited class number, i'm pretty certain I'll get in...haha.
Today I have my class picture and then possibly heading in to Boston with a new friend! That will be fun fun.

College...

So here I am at college. Just so you all know, I'm an adult know. I made it through that difficult right of passage: setting up my own computer, printer and successfully connecting my computer to the internet. However, I'm kinda mad at my computer right now because there's no little thingy to plug a mouse in and I'm getting really tired of the stupid stupid touch pad. To that I say bah.
I am actually surprised by how much I'm liking college. I don't know if I'd call it fun, yet, but I'm meeting lots of people (and forgetting their names five seconds after they introduce themselves). I'm happy because I passed my Quantitative reasoning and I placed into French 201. But that's kinda a moot point because I'm not planning on taking French this semester. The plan so far is to take Calc II, Bio 111 (with a nasty 3 hour lab) Islam in the modern world and a course called something like Plays and Production. Anywho, it should be a nice balance between working my eyeballs out and having fun fun fun, which I think is an important part of college.
The coolest thing ever is that there are so many international students. Out of a class of just over 600 there are representitivees from 42 countries. There's a girl from Russia and someone from Singapore and tons of people from China. There are Indians, Mexicans, a girl from Amsterdam...someone from Kuwait, someone from Korea, Nepal...it's really exciting!
Ok, I shall stop gushing.
